Handmade planter pot/ tealight holder with surface transfer print design, inspired by a combination of English Architectural styles and elements from Victorian floor tile patterns and Eastern floral prints.

Great to be used as a planter pot for succulents or perfect as a tealight holder due to the translucency of the ceramic material used enables the pattern details to be accentuated when lit up.

The pot measures approximately 8cm diameter by approximately 7cm high.

Please note there may be a slight variation in the colour shown due to different firings and print runs

 Artist Statement – Alex Allday

Alex Allday is a Ceramic and Surface Pattern Designer who produces decorative ceramic wares with intricate surface pattern designs and textures.

All of her surface designs are inspired by the fusion of traditional patterns and styles, such as floral motifs, Victorian tiles and ornate architecture. Alex combines the use of handcrafted and digitally produced techniques and processes to create a range of diverse surface pattern details for a variety of different decorative ceramic wares. All of her pieces are individually handmade using the process of slip casting or hand building and are produced in high quality porcelain. They are then all hand decorated with her printed transfer designs.

Alex is based in an open studio and workshop at Middleport Pottery, Stoke-on-Trent which is a beautiful old Victorian pottery and heritage site that is open to the public, where Burleigh pottery is still made and is home to 6 other creative studios.
