About Anna Croxen:

Anna lives and works in Hertfordshire.

Anna’s passion for glass started many years ago when she attended a session at a local studio. She went on to complete a part time course at the University of Hertfordshire and then further developed her skills by having lessons at a number of studios in England.  She then set up her own home studio and bought her first kiln in 2018.

 ​Anna has always been fascinated by glass.  She loves how it reflects the light and the amazing patterns and shapes which can be achieved.  Half the beauty is what happens in the kiln and how you fire the piece.  Most of her inspiration is from the natural world and from observing form and patterns found within nature. She enjoys creating depth within her work and her work often involves multiple firings and techniques.  

​Anna's pieces use a variety of glass sheets, powders and frits, together with metal inclusions, enamel paints and murrine cane. Her recent pieces use the sand casting technique and are created using hot glass from a furnace. She is always experimenting and trying new ideas so her work is continually evolving.
