About Liz Grammenos
Liz spent the first 18 years of her life abroad. She now lives near Amersham, Bucks with her Greek husband. Even though she gets a lot of inspiration whilst walking in the beautiful woods, hills and fields around her home, Liz prefers to work using purely memory, imagination, emotion and mood. Liz had very little formal art training but she was lucky enough to be brought up by artist parents and was constantly encouraged to play with clay, paint and charcoal. Making a mess was never a problem!
Liz’s style of work has changed considerably over the years and indeed is still changing and developing! Even though she prefers to paint in an impressionist style with acrylics, Liz also enjoys experimenting and exploring different mediums and styles. Colour and shape form an important part of Liz’s painting and she’s constantly seeking new ideas and inspiration both at home and abroad. Liz belongs to the Amersham based Beechwood Artists and to Cookham Arts Club and she has also been taking part in Bucks Art Weeks (was Bucks Open Studios) for a number of years, but Liz gets the most pleasure painting with her three friends and fellow members of Simpatico
