Statement Isabel Fallow BA Fine Art MA Printmaking
My work is a fusion of memory and experience, often relating to journeys made and personal encounters. It is inspired and informed by the natural environment, mountains, lochs and seas, sensations of sound and sight, in particular colour. Recent work is connected to the patterns and changing colours of the fields that surround us, the worked landscape. Sometimes these can embody an airborne aesthetic, a different view of the world..
Like memories of songs and poems, spaces and places remain within us, and, through the process of painting, they are re-called, re-emerging as new spaces, imaginary spaces and sometimes places of hopes and dreams.
