About Jess Lelong : Lelong Designs

Lelong Designs was started by Jean Lelong in the 1950s when he was working as a lighting technician for a theatre in Paris. He was given a box of jewellery beads by his cousin and began making earrings which he gave to the performers. The performers were soon commissioning him to make pieces and Lelong Designs took off.

The company has blossomed over the years and Jean was joined by his son Jess in 1982 and together they make handmade costume jewellery, photo frames and decorated scent bottles from their London workshop.

Every design is inspired by the Art Deco & Art Nouveau movements and stamped from the original steel dies dating from the 1890s to 1930s. Each piece is silver or 18ct gold plated and nickel free. Together Jess and Jean continue to use the traditional technique of fired glass enamelling. Each design is set with diamante crystals and semi-precious stones.

As a small family business they strive to create the highest quality items they possibly can and supply shops in London’s West End and dealers & collectors from around the world. Many of their designs have been featured in magazines including Vogue, ES Magazine, Homes and Garden, Good House Keeping, The Telegraph Magazine, Vintage Now and Bliss for Brides.
