Patricia's practice involves using the ancient techniques of egg tempera and gilding on handmade gesso panels. Over twenty-five years ago she leant these techniques whilst studying icon painting and her work has  developed  from this  starting  point.   She is continually revisiting and experimenting this beautiful medium to produce contemporary work, which she hopes has the ability to capture the everyday beauty of the natural world. This is done with multi layering of egg tempera glazes over gold leaf on gesso panels and then drawing back into the surface of the work to create the imagery.
