Artist Statement

"This painting was inspired by walks in the Chilterns where well worn chalk paths lead over rolling hills through fields and copses. I have accentuated the fresh greens of the  renewing landscape in the Springtime."

"I often take day trips and breaks in the UK to walk and sketch and paint the wonderful scenery. My local area around Berkshire and Oxfordshire and the coast and countryside of  the UK are my inspiration. My sketches are done in watercolour and ink which are then worked up into a paining in oils in my studio."

Oil paintings using a specially created technique is another method used to create land and seascapes This style can sometimes be realistic or be semi abstract but retains the recognisable structures of landscape and coast.
