About Jean Edwards
During the 1990s Jean was an etcher, using printmaking facilities at Avenue Campus, Northampton and then at Leicester Print Workshop when it was in Knighton Lane. She has recently returned to printmaking after a ten year gap. Attending courses on collagraphs, lithography, Gum Arabic Transfer printing, drypoint and monoprinting at Leicester Print Workshop helped her to regain and develop her skills and understanding of printmaking processes. She now makes collagraphs using a variety of markmaking and collage techniques. At present her work is small scale enough to print at home on a small press. Her prints are inspired by local landscape and buildings as well as drawings made on visits to museums and galleries.
