About Phil Holmes

Philthetree (Phil Holmes) is a forester turned woodturner. "I live in a cabin with Hannah Willow, six cats, three dogs...several feral children...chickens, ducks and geese in the garden... next to an orchard full of ancient apple trees.

"Living on a large organic farm estate in Wiltshire, I source local indigenous wood for my work, and allow the nature and character of the tree to suggest the finished piece. This allows for shapes and forms that give a natural rustic feel to my work, showing the true beauty of the wood."
