The Silver Pavilion in Kyoto, Japan. Hand-printed by Alexandra Buckle using 16 colours over 13 layers.
Printed by hand in a very limited edition of just 20 prints. Small variations make each individual piece truly original. Every print is numbered, titled and signed at the bottom and conservation mounted. This is a reduction linocut; a relief print formed with layers of colour which are cut and printed from the same block of lino. The block is destroyed in the process.
Materials: lightfast water-based inks, archival cotton paper, conservation mount

About Alexandra Buckle
Alexandra Buckle is an artist and jewellery maker previously based near Buckingham and now living in Oxfordshire. Alexandra says her “ most remarkable success to date” is having her linocuts selected for the 2011 and 2012 Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. In 2014 and 2015 Alexandra had two prints exhibited in the Society of Women Artists exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London.
Alexandra has a BA in Craft and has exhibited extensively.
She teaches 1-2-1 lino printing at her home studio in Bicester, and larger classes and workshops at Buckingham Art School near Stowe.
Developing her print work is now Alexandra’s main area of focus.
