Obsidian Art is an art gallery based in Stoke Mandeville in Buckinghamshire. Established in 2002, we host a rolling programme of exhibitions, some themed and some group, plus invited solo shows by some of our favourite artists. These exhibitions are accompanied by an ongoing display of designer-maker craft - jewellery, ceramics, glass and more.

We show work by a broad range of selected UK-based artists and makers with an aim of showing some of the best in art and craft. We also always have some of the best local artists on show.

Tuesday - Saturdays 10am to 4pm
Sundays Noon to 4pm
CLOSED MONDAYS

Whilst we change shows over the gallery maybe shut for redecoration, so if making a special trip please contact the gallery to check.

Framing

At Obsidian we recognise how important framing can be to perfectly compliment and enhance a piece of artwork. We offer a full Bespoke Framing Service - whether it's something you've purchased at the gallery or elsewhere, we're happy to offer you help and guidance on how best to frame the piece to prefectly compliment and best enhance it. We can also frame your precious 3d items, clothing, memorabilia, etc.

Gift Vouchers

Gift vouchers can be purchased for any amount from £10. A perfect present for that difficult to buy for friend or relative, also ideal for leaving, retirement and wedding presents. These can be ordered over the phone & posted out if required. Gift vouchers can also be purchased online here.

Wedding Lists

You can create a list for us to put on a private web page for just you and your guests - wedding guests can make contributions by credit or debit card over the phone of by visiting the gallery. You can ask people to contribute towards a piece of art which we will reserve for you and you can display it at your wedding reception. Alternatively guests can be asked to contribute to an art fund, which you can then use to purchase items from the gallery, or to commission a piece. Either way, we'll create a presonalised gift list with personal messages and names of everyone who contributed. Contact the gallery and we'd be delighted to discuss what approach would suit you and your wedding guests best.


Commissions

We have a portfolio of experienced portrait artists who are happy to help you commission a portrait - people, pets, homes, your favourite view, etc. to create a really special unique piece of art to treasure. Just contact us and let us know what you have in mind with a guide to your timescales and budget.

Own Art

As an Arts Council approved gallery, Obsidian Art is able to offer Own Art. The Own Art scheme is designed to make it easy and affordable for everyone to buy contemporary works of art and craft including paintings, printmaking, photography, sculpture, glass, ceramics and jewellery.

You can borrow up to £2,500, or as little as £100, and pay back the loan in 10 monthly instalments - interest free. Our Venue

We're on the same site as well known local visitor's attraction, The Bucks Goat Centre. As well as an on-site cafe, our lovely neighbour businesses include The Buckinghamshire Craft Guild.  See more about all the other businesses located here too. A wonderful place for a day out!
