About Carmen Carreira

Carmen Carreira is a Wildlife Illustrator who since graduating in Illustration from Kingston University, has produced book art for Random House, Country Living and the National Trust, illustrations for greeting cards and magazines, has exhibited at the Mall Galleries for the London Artists Book Fair, and creates one-off commissions for private collectors and galleries.

She grew up in Buckinghamshire, although spent many childhood summers in rural northern Spain on the family farm. Now settled in Leighton Buzzard with her family, her home studio overlooks the fields of Southcourt Stud Farm. Her work is often inspired by the wildlife that visits there - foxes, red kites, deer, pheasants and a whole host of other wonders that she captures in watercolour and pencil.
