Gary Rance

Local wood-turner Gary Rance was awarded the honour of Master in Turning, in recognition of his skill.  This is a rare award given to only the absolute best. Gary has been turning wood since 1975, when, at the age of 16, he began a three year apprenticeship with a woodturning company in Chesham.
He has exhibited extensively, including the National Exhibition Centre Birmingham,  as well as woodturning clubs all over Great Britain, Belgium, France, the Channel Islands, Ireland, Norway, Salt Lake City and Iceland. Gary is considered one of the fastest and most accurate production woodturners in the U.K and has a customer base of approximately 500. His work can be found in Harrods and Liberty’s and he has also produced work for the Duke of Westminster and British celebrities. Gary was commissioned to turn a wooden baby rattle, which was presented to Prince Harry on the birth of his son Archie.
