About Katie Almond

The porcelain pieces Katie creates are unique, one-offs produced using a variety of slip casting and hand-building techniques. All incorporate Katie's own drawings with found nostalgic imagery by using both hand painting and transfers, and many have the added opulence of gold lustre.

Nostalgic themes that Katie enjoys creating in her work are afternoon tea, the seaside, gardening, and her love of traditional blue and white pottery.

Since graduating from De Montfort University, and setting up her studio in 2009, Katie has regularly exhibited throughout the UK and her work has been featured in magazines, such as Period Living, Essential Living and Homes & Antiques.
