About Susan Wheeler
Susan studied at The Central School of Art & Design in London and at Bristol University. She co-ran a successful pottery for many years making ceramic tiles before returning to her love of printmaking.
Susan says of her work, "The subjects of my prints include the landscapes, people and buildings that I see around me. I usually start with detailed drawings done from life. These are then refined to make use of what I consider to be the most important elements. Linocuts encourage a selective process that lends itself to strong, graphic design. and the use of bold lines and flat areas of colour. This results in a decorative quality that I enjoy."
Susan exhibits in galleries and Art Fairs, including the Bankside Gallery, London, the Affordable Art Fair in Battersea and Art in Action at Waterperry Gardens. She occasionally teaches linocut and woodcut: last summer at Art in Action and at the Henley Guild of Art and Craft.
Susan works from her studio in Oxford.
