Angelique Talbot - Artist Biography

Angelique Talbot is a London-based calligraphy artist creating contemporary drawings and visual poetry. She uses acrylic inks and traditional edged calligraphy tools creating rich textural complexities expressing the interconnected experience of identity, memory and place. Calligraphic forms are broken down and reassembled, using an expressive gestural calligraphy.

After completing an MA with distinction at Camberwell College of Arts, Angelique became a practicing artist in 2014, having worked with formal calligraphy for over 20 years. This training, combined with a prior career in scientific research allowed Angelique to develop a strong practice based research philosophy. This underpins all of her art and accompanying poetry work. Angelique has exhibited work at the Candid Arts Trust, Craftspace In:site festival, and has sold artwork into a number of private collections across the UK.
