About Jeremy White

Jeremy trained originally as a Drama teacher but first found Pottery at the Sir John Cass School of Art at a Saturday morning class - he stayed all day with the teacher Beryl Harman and worked with her for several years.

Boyd Parker and Sarah Perry were major influences on his development and Sarah and her work is still an inspiration to him. Later he set up his own Pottery in Brentford and taught in South London at a Girls Remand Home and at a Lambeth Institute. He was invited to contribute to two exhibitions at the prestigious Dulwich Picture Gallery.

Thirty years ago he retired from teaching and returning to his early roots, setting up a West End Theatrical Agency. He retired from the Agency in November 2007 and since then has been creating the current Pottery in Wendover with Godfrey Thorpe. Production started again on January 1st 2008.

Working in High Fired Stoneware, natural forms and landscapes influence his work. He enjoys hand building techniques and wheel thrown creations, relying principally on shape, form and glazes effects for the finished piece.

Tragically, Jeremy passed away in December 2023.  As a regular exhibitor at Obsidian Art since 2008, we continue to exhibit his last remaining pieces.
