The ‘Art Inspiration’ that this workshop will focus on is, from the Garden and Beyond. Particularly Flowers, Fruit, Foliage and Feathers – The Four F’s.
Sally will bring some Four F’s for use during the afternoon but if you have any foliage or feathers that you’d like to add to the mix, then please bring with you!
Other resources for participants to bring will be specified upon booking.
You will leave with a final design to take home.

£50 per 18+ adult & £40 per young person aged between 9 to 13 yrs.

Sally is a very talented nature/wildlife artist and wildlife gardener so, we are delighted to offer you the opportunity to spend an afternoon in Sally’s wild world!
A fun and creative, intergenerational workshop for adults and young people in which, you will experiment with different painting techniques, using some natural materials to create pieces of artwork.
Sally will start the workshop by teaching you ‘Tataki Zome’ – a Japanese flower and leaf, gentle ‘tapping’ technique to create a fascinating, unique image on paper and fabric.
You will also explore ‘Goyotaku’ – originally a printing technique created by Japanese fisherman to record their catch. Leaves and stems perfectly adapt to this technique.
Sally will bring with her some natural inks & pigments to demonstrate with – beautiful, unique colours and you will be supplied with a handout of tips and instructions for how to find the natural products to create your own inks.
Using these techniques and natural products, Sally will help you work on a design to take home.
Time allowing, Sally will also share her ‘Shelf of Curiosity’ – encouraging all, to start their own shelf of curiosity… what can you find, when out walking or, in the garden? Sally will bring with her, some of her ‘curious garden finds’.
Sally spent some time as a portrait artist in motorsport and the world of horses, she also taught watercolour painting and drawing for many years. However, Sally now considers she’s found her ‘happy place’ - the joy of portraying wildlife with natural materials and she looks forward to sharing this joy with you.
