About Brenda Hurley
Brenda Hurley was born in Bradford, West Yorkshire.
Originally studying fashion design at Bradford College of Arts & Crafts, she first worked in the fashion industry and then ran a successful design business for many years.
Whilst raising her family, Brenda took the opportunity to study Fine Art at St Albans College (now Hatfield University), and spent three years developing concepts and creativity in the Fine Art Department.
Commencing in 1990, she undertook a four year part time course at Amersham College where she achieved a Distinction in the Bucks Higher Diploma of Art & Design.
“My love for the figure and of the landscape is forever giving me inspiration to indulge myself in colour and paint. There is usually an element of design in my work but I make no apology for this, with this tool, colour and paint, my work is truly mine.”
Brenda is a member of the National Acrylic Painters Association and has exhibited widely around the country. Highly respected as an artist and a tutor, Brenda Hurley's work is regularly exhibited at Obsidian Art.
