Emma Przygrodzka - Artist Statement

Studied BA (Hons) in Three Dimensional Design at Bath Academy of Art.

My work follows simple principles of construction, which I then distort and manipulate into unique forms. I layer slips, oxides and glazes to build depth and surface texture, maintaining a physical connection to the act of making through firing. I am currently exploring these
materials and application techniques through raku, pit, soda and wood firing.

Inspired by organic forms, erosion and chance, I use a combination of traditional and contemporary making processes. My work is shaped by the traces of making, memory and fire, reflecting the way objects gather meaning through use and time.
