A delightful addition to any bathroom, this intricately decorated soap dish with three drain holes and little ball feet has been hand-made by Jeanne Jackson. The Kingfisher motif is often present in Jeanne's work and adds such a sense of colour and charm to her pieces whilst demonstrating her attention to detail and interest in the natural world.
The piece measures approximately 18cm x 15cm and is 3.5cm high
Artist Statement – Jeanne Jackson
After a degree in Ceramics from Bristol University and further study at Saratoga University, New York State, Jeanne established her first workshop at Space Studios in London`s Docklands. After moving to Oxfordshire, she combined teaching Art and Ceramics with producing her own work. Jeanne's style and materials have evolved and changed over the years but drawing has always been an important part of her development. Travels in Central America and Africa have informed the designs of her recent work which involves scraffito drawing and under glazes and oxides. Jeanne's work is both hand built and wheel thrown and she specialises in individual unique pieces.
Jeanne is a member of Oxfordshire Craft Guild, West Ox Arts, Oxfordshire Artweeks and an Associate member of the Craft Potters Association.
