About Linda Lovatt

Linda Lovatt trained as an illustrator in the Welsh Borders and has worked freelance for many years. Linda now has her own gallery and studio in the Scottish borders.

Linda says of her work, "Coming from a family of engineers I have always enjoyed metal working of all types. This together with my love of early Folk Art and French automata inspired me to create my own range of jewellery and assemblage, which are made from soldered copper, chemical verdigris and fragments of the past.

"My large and unruly garden has proved to be a rich source of inspiration and material finds such as broken pottery for my illustrative and quirky creations. To complement the garden finds, the local antique and charity shops of the town donate their pretty chipped cups, lonely saucers and redundant keys to be turned into a 'Beastie Assemblage'."
