Carmen says of this painting, "With this piece I wanted to capture the delicate beauty of the flowers just before they begin to fade - as their bright colours soften to muted greens, creams and dusky pinks."

About Carmen Carreira

Carmen Carreira is a local artist with a particular interest in wildlife and botanical illustration. 
After graduating with a degree in Illustration from Kingston university, Carmen produced book art for publishers including Country Living and the National Trust. 

Carmen's work is particularly influenced by the natural world and wildlife conservation, and when not exhibiting or working on commissions, Carmen is Artist-in-Residence at Ascott Estate National Trust in Buckinghamshire.
