About Madeleine Blaine
Madeleine has been making jewellery for 15 years after her passion was ignited by travelling the world and witnessing the amazing variety of both the ancient and modern arts.
She was taught the art of silversmithing in the mountains of south Mexico, where she lived for many years improving her technique and collecting gemstones.
Much of the colour and vibrancy of the country can still be seen in her designs today. One of her other great inspirations is nature and this reflects in the organic and flowing forms used in her creations.
Her love of colour has her using a mixture of both silver and gold with bright , dazzling gemstones, like little works of art to wear. Her work has been described as magical, enchanting and even branded ‘art nouveau with a modern twist’.
Each piece is made using a mixture of traditional silversmithing techniques and the casting process, whereby a mould is made of the original piece and then finished by hand and the stones set.
A long journey takes place before the finished piece that lays before you, is made.
