Nicola Kantorowicz works with glass and has over twenty five years experience designing and making stained glass. Working with traditional tools and materials she produces contemporary designs which explore her love of decoration.
Her commissioned work can be found in churches in Oxfordshire, Sussex, Suffolk and Kent. Recent projects for public buildings include two rose windows for Banbury Town Hall.
She also enjoys making smaller pieces for domestic sites and welcomes commissions for windows in the home.
Her original training in textile design at Winchester School of Art in evident in her love of colour and pattern. She combines techniques such as acid etching and sandblasting with traditional kiln fired glass painting to produce colourful and decorative glass surfaces.
Nicola also enjoys teaching and encourages students to explore this wonderful ancient craft. All her classes are suitable for beginners, no one should be afraid of glass! A variety of classes can be found at Ardington School of Craft, Micklems Farm and Maiden Erleigh Community School.
